Souvenir workshop and pancakes at “Smēdes Nams”

The smithy “Smēdes Nams” is part of Cesvaine Manor Complex, and it was built even before Cesvaine Palace (around 1880).

Over the last 133 years, the smithy has gone through different times and experienced several turning points. The building has once been the manor’s smithy, woodworking shop, Soviet office building, dispatcher service, church’s charity centre, laboratory, construction material store, and so many more…
Now, the building is a private property and the owners—a family of five—bought the home to save it and give it another possibility to live on for years to come.
