* The name ‘Graši’ has already been mentioned in chronicles in 1589, when 8 farmhouses were given as a fief to August Geister (this the German name ‘Geistershof’ comes from, from which the Latvian ‘Graši’ was then derived). Graši manor complex dates back to the late 18th century. The lord’s house was built in 1784 and follows the Classicism tradition. Landlord’s house is closer to the ravine, further there is a stable with carthouse, the upper floor of which was used by servants. Behind the stable there was a greenhouse, but only ruins have remained. Opposite the landlord’s house there was servants’ house, but further – a byre.

* Since 1820, the manor with a two-storey lord’s house was owned by the von Kahlen family, spirits of this family have been retained in the building restored in 2002 where the hotel “Graši Manor” is located now. The manor is surrounded by a Baroque garden.

* Reconstruction of the manor started in 1993 with a goal to provide for the operation of a private children’s home “Graši Children’s Village”. Now the children live in small groups in houses resembling a family-like environment, but the manor house serves as a hotel.
