“Lat Angus”- meat produce shop, tour around the farm, catering for groups

A biological farm specialising in raising beef cattle and making meat produce. The farm cultivates around 500 ha and raise Angus and Highland cows, and Merino and Romanov sheep. The owner is Ieva Galiņa.

SHOP:
* Sale of the meat produce manufactured by the farm.
* Smoked meat, sausages (gluten-free), dumplings, steaks, shashlik, etc.
* Working hours: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri 8.00–18.00.
* Processing of customer’s meat.

TOUR:
* Duration: 2 hours. During the trip, three structural units of the farm are visited (driving needed).
* First stop. Beef cattle farm. Meeting the owner, story about biological farming, rural scenery and animals: cattle, sheep, pigs, birds.
* Second stop (1.7 km). The former fruit tree breeding farm “Iedzēni”. The former farm building and orchards, historical evidences, restoration and future plans. At this farm, mainly apples, pears, plums, cherries, and also flowers were grown. “Iedzēni” started working in 1937, and during the next 60 years became the largest fruit tree breeding farm in the state and was also renowned internationally. During the restoration of the State of Latvia in 1990s, the farm ceased its activity. After 30 years of neglect, the territory was obtained by Galiņi family.
* Third stop (8 km). Tasting and shopping. Meat processing plant (not available for visitors), tasting programme (meat produce and a drink is served in the summer house), sale of produce (smoked meat, sausages, dumplings, steaks, shashlik, etc.).

Price:
* up to 8 people: EUR 40 per group;
* more than 8 people: EUR 7 per person.

CATERING:
* Catering of groups can be arranged (organised in the summer house). Menu: dumplings, sausages, shashlik.
* Food truck services.
